According to Bhandup police, the auto rickshaw driver — Sushil Patkar — saw the body lying in the back seat of his rickshaw when he came to start his vehicle. "Patkar's wife has not been keeping well from last 10 days. Hence, he had parked his vehicle at Kokan Nagar in Bhandup and had covered it with a plastic sheet. Today, when he removed the cover, he found the body in the back seat with his throat slit," said an officer from Bhandup police station.

He further added: "The body could not be identified as there was no identity card on it. We have got a train ticket from Sangameshwar to Mumbai of October 14 and we are further investigating the case."
