Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has snubbed Shiv Sena in the BMC by rejecting the demand of taking the leader of all the political parties in the BMC on the panel of Planning Committee. Development Plan Department of the BMC has conveyed the ruling party citing the rulebook that their demand cannot be met with.
In the last week of August this year, Shiv Sena leader in the BMC Trushna Vishwasrao demanded that all party leaders should be on the panel "to ensure that there is a perspective from every side when hearing suggestions/objections" which have been submitted for the draft DP 2034 from all quarters of the society.
Shiv Sena is not very happy about the reply. "We will wait for the commissioner's reply as we are not clear on who should be appointing the members of the standing committee," said Vishwasrao, leader of the House and Shiv Sena party leader.
