MUMBAI: Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's Clean Up Marshall's have collected Rs 10, 34, 040 in fines from 3540 offenders in the first month of their operations.
 
Speaking in a press conference, Municipal Commissioner Jairaj Phatak said, ''Apart from the fine collected, more than 13,000 people have been educated and warned regarding cleanliness.''
 
BMC had started its campaign last month admist much fanfare with an aim to make the city a cleaner one. Many school and college students had opted to join the marshall's in the clean-up drive.
