BMC Commissioner instructs all road repair work to be completed before monsoon

Municipal Commissioner Ajoy Mehta instructed all 24 assistant commissioners on Thursday to speed up resurfacing and repair of all the ongoing road work across the city before monsoon.

The civic chief has set two priority lists for the road works, under which the first priority list comprises 94 roads and second list includes 938 roads taken up by the road department of the BMC. All these roads will have to be resurfaced by May 15, 2017, before monsoon.

Municipal Commissioner Mehta has taken the recurring pothole issue very seriously and made all the Assistant Commissioners and the Deputy Municipal Commissioner accountable for the same. He has given clear cut directives that citizens should not face the pothole ridden roads during monsoon so that there are less traffic jams.
