BJP using agencies like ED to come back to power: NCP Chief Sharad Pawar

NCP Chief Sharad Pawar in an exclusive interaction with Zee 24 Taas admitted that he is getting good response from the youth of the state as he is touring the state. In the next 10-20 years he intends to build a cadre of youth leadership and he is here to encourage them.

Nationalist Congress Party on Monday made a blistering attack against BJP and alleged that the ruling party is fully using the investigating agencies like Enforcement Directorate and Central Bureau of Investigation to come back to power and also to exert pressure on the opposition leaders in the country. He referred to recent instances wherein ED had served notice to several leaders across the country.

Pawar's statement comes two weeks after he was named in a money-laundering case by the ED in connection with a scam at Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank. He voluntarily had decided to visit the ED office in Mumbai but postponed it after ED told him that they will call whenever needed. Pawar had said that using probe agency to scare will not work and added that ED's action gave an impression that opposition leaders were being targetted.

He clarified that there is no familial quarrels in his family. He said that everyone in the family listens to him as he is the eldest. After he told NCP leader Ajit Pawar he is working vigorously for the party and doing campaigning. After the Enforcement Directorate (ED) enforced a case on him, Ajit Pawar was shell shocked and sad. It was in this state of mind that he suddenly decided to tender his resignation as a MLA. There are no family fights responsible for it.
