A twenty three-year-old biker killed in an accident after a speeding lorry hit his bike on western express highway in Goregaon (east), while he was on his way home.

The Vanrai police station has arrested the lorry driver, Gyanchand Yadav for causing death due to rush and negligent driving. 

According to the police the deceased Azhar Khan, lived in LIC colony in Borivali (west) and use to work in a shop.  The incident took place around 5pm on Tuesday, when Khan was heading back home.

When he reached new Ashok Nagar on Western Express Highway in Goregaon (east) lorry driver Yadav hit his bike from the rear.

"Due to the impact of the collision Khan lost his balance and was thrown off the bike about ten feet away. He sustained grievous injuries. Khan was rushed to Bhagwati Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment" said senior police inspector, Suresh Shinde of the Vanrai police station.

"The people managed to note down the number of the lorry and gave it to the police. Police then traced the lorry from RTO office and arrested Yadav from his residence in Dahisar" said police officer.
