Bhayander sub inspector caught taking bribe

The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Navi Mumbai, on Wednesday arrested sub inspector Shivshankar More of Bhayander police station for accepting a bribe of Rs75, 000 from a local builder. Senior inspector Amarsingh Nimbalkar has also come under scanner as sub inspector More had named him while accepting the bribe. An ACB official said that they will verify the evidence and take action accordingly.

According to ACB, Iqbal Shaikh Mahadik, 35, a local builder from Bhayander approached them with a complaint against More. In his complaint, Iqbal stated that More had demanded a bribe of Rs2 lakh for settling a property dispute. He added that More was now demanding Rs75,000 extra.

Accordingly, the facts were verified and a trap was set at Bhayander police station on Wednesday morning. The sub inspector was caught red handed while accepting bribe amount from Iqbal Mahadik.
