Bhayandar boy rescued, 2 held

Thane rural police rescued the eight-year-old boy, who was abducted from Bhayandar, and have arrested two kidnappers.
They rescued the child from Talegaon district in Pune rural and have launched a manhunt for the main accused, who is a distant relative of the victim.

The rescued boy, Himanshu Mishra, was handed over to his parents on Wednesday. The arrested accused have been identified as Devendra Bhagwan Thakur and Gautam Ramesh Jadhav.

On the evening of September 8, Himanshu went missing after he visited his uncle Jamunaprasad Mishra’s shop at Bombay market in Bhayandar (West). Afterwards, Jamunaprasad received a call on his mobile informing that Himanshu had been kidnapped and that the boy would be released only if he paid Rs15 lakh ransom.
He then lodged a complaint with the Bhayandar police, who quickly started tracing the location of the mobile phone used by the kidnappers. After tracing their location,  put their Talegaon counterpart on the culprits’ trail.

The kidnappers had kept Himanshu in a remote place in Talegaon and had asked Jamunaprasad to bring the amount to Talegaon but did not come forward to collect the money.

A Thane police team, led by additional SP Sangramsingh Nishandar, reached Talegaon and arrested them when they came to collect the ransom. They then  rescued Himanshu.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the main accused, Dharmendra, was a former employee of Jamunaprasad and left about a year ago.
