Do not be surprised if you see old bus relics, bus tickets, seats and other paraphernalia at the Byculla Zoo where the Humboldt Penguins have been kept. The Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) Undertaking wants its parent organisation, the BMC to provide space in the same building premises for the BEST museum.

At present, the BEST museum is situated inside Anik Depot in Wadala. According to BEST officials, the location is inconvenient for visitors and so the footfalls are negligible. "The museum situated at Anik Depot is far for people to travel and so we have demanded space on the same building premises where Penguins have been kept," said Anil Kokil, Chairman, BEST Committee. Considering a large number of footfalls at Byculla zoo, the BEST stated that there is space on the second floor where the Penguins have been kept. If that is not an option then they should be allowed to construct a new setup for the museum.

The current condition of the museum is nothing less than dire. With entry fee at the museum being free, the BEST officials claim that they are also looking at levying charges once it is shifted to Byculla zoo. The cash-strapped BEST is looking at all avenues to augment its revenue.
