In his signature address to his "brothers, sisters and mothers" on the ocassion of Dussehra, Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray started by criticising the control on noise levels at the venue -- Shivaji Park.

"Nobody can mute the voice of the Shiv Sena" Thackeray said.

Criticising the Centre for its lack of action, Thackeray appealed to the nation to vote them out next election.

He asked reporters to be on his side and then went on to slam the current generation of reporters.

"if we are wrong, tell us how to get better. But if we do well, praise us," he said.

Thackeray also criticised the Jan Lokpal movement, saying that Anna Hazare is honest but he cannot control corruption. 

He asked why while Anna was fasting, his team was busy doling out hospitality to those gathered.But first get rid of this impotent government, Thackeray exhorted.

Slamming the government for its lack of political will, Thackeray asked: "is (terrorist Ajmal) Kasab Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law?"."I won't let Mumbai be broken from Maharashtra. If need be I will stand with a pistol and shoot those who try," Thackeray said.

"I am okay. I will tour Maharashtra and give hour-long speeches. I am also trying to draw cartoons now. And I can fight, Thackeray assured the Sena.He also assured everyone that he will fight for mill workers. Finally, Thackeray took his leave, promising to return with Ramdas Athavle to announce the coalition with the Republican Party of India.
