According to Praful Patel, the civil aviation minister, aviation is going to be the next big thing after the IT and BPOs. With the boom in the aviation industry and increasing number of private airlines, this is going to be the industry which will be a big draw for the youth.

“In the next 10 years, there will be 40 lakh jobs in aviation,” he said.  The minister was in the city to accept the Super Achiever Excellence Award at the ‘Dare to Dream Conference 2007’ of the Rotary Club on Saturday.

This was the annual meet of the city Rotarians at Hotel Leela, with around 1500 people attending it from Mumbai and Thane. Among the other awardees was Eknath Thakur, Member of Parliament, who was given the life-time achievement award. The Rotary Corporate Social Responsibility Award was given to Lamon Rutten, Jt. MD, MCX (Multi Commodity Exchange).
