RTI activist and president of Sajag Nagrik Manch, Vivek Velankar said, “The attack on Mane shows the total failure of the state government and the police. Mane is following up the cases that were being probed into by Satish Shetty. This is a tragic incident. In spite of this, we will encourage people to file more RTI applications. However, the scammers wanted to threaten activists by this attack, so they do not file applications in the future.”

RTI activist and independent corporator of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, Maruti Bhapkar said, “This shows the state of law and order in the state. It also shows how powerful these looters have become. The Shetty murder was shocking for RTI activists, but they have not stopped doing their work. Due to this incident, some RTI activists may fear to file applications. Moreover, the police have not done their work properly in the Shetty murder case and that is why such incidents are happening.”
