Dismissed encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma is the prime accused in the 2006 fake encounter.

Bheda had gone missing from near his Navi Mumbai residence on March 13. A body recovered recently from the Manor jungles has been identified as that of Bheda’s after DNA analysis.

A transcript of the conversation between Bheda and an unidentified caller on March 11 and 12 was submitted to the Bombay high court recently which revealed that he was being tailed and the man called him (Bheda) at regular intervals. DNA has a copy of the transcript.

The caller repeatedly tried to assure Bheda that he was his well-wisher and he should leave the city for his own safety.

Toh mein kya chahata hoon, sirf teen din ke liye aap…please please... chale jao yaha se (I want you please go someplace else for only three days),” the unidentified caller told Bheda on March 12 around 8.40pm. “Abhi jo andar hai unki taraf se tumko taklif nahin hai… SIT ki taraf se bhi... yeh bhalte log hai. (You don't have trouble from the people who are in jail or from the SIT. These are different people).”

The caller added: “Yeh log aagar kuch kar dete hai tumahare sath to naam uska aata hi…yeh do companyoki ladai hai. (If they do anything to you then his [Sharma’s] name will surface. This is a fight between two groups).”

The caller had even offered Bheda money to disappear from the city until the matter settles.

Bheda had received the first call on March 11 around 11.44am. But, he identified himself as Vijay, a friend of Bheda’s to the caller, and said, “Bheda had gone to his hometown for a few days”.

The caller told “Vijay” that Chhota Rajan’s men wanted to kill Bheda and DK Rao had taken up the task.
