On Tuesday, the anti-narcotics cell (ANC), Bandra Unit, of Mumbai police department arrested two youths for allegedly peddling 325 grams of Mephedrone worth Rs 6,50,000. This is the fourth major drug haul in the city by the ANC. The police have claimed that the accused held in the raid were active in the social circles of the city.

According to police, Mohammad  Esmail Salim Khan,38 and a Kurla resident was held with 230 grams of Mephedrone worth Rs 4,60,000 while another accused Noormohammd Yusuf Sayyad alias Noora,45, Kurla resident was arrested with 90 grams of Mephedrone worth Rs 1,90,000. 

The police have also seized two cars which were used to peddle drugs in parties and to youths outside city colleges. The accused were waiting to deliver the drugs near APJ Abdul Kalam maidan at Kurla

“We were tipped off by the informers about the accused waiting to deliver a drug consignment. We laid the trap and nabbed them red-handed,” said an ANC police officer.
