Victim Aditi Nagpaul was driving her car and was with her two sons and sister when accused Nitish Sharma, 37, allegedly stalked them in his car and even reached her residential building. He later entered the building premises and audaciously rang Nagpaul's door bell. When Nagpaul opened the door Sharma demanded for a glass of water after which Nagpaul confronted him and managed to click his photographs. She later reported the matter to the Amboli police.

Speaking to DNA, Sharma's first wife from Pune said, "A year after our marriage we filed for divorce and got separated after Sharma and his family subjected me to harassment. Sharma would also assault me and even after divorce his harassment did not stop and he continued to harass me and demanded to meet his son which I was against. I have no connection with Sharma or his family anymore," said the former wife.

Sharma and his former wife fell in love with each other at their workplace and it was a love marriage.

His second wife on learning about the incident through social media contacted Nagpaul and informed her about Sharma's wrongdoings.

Speaking to DNA, Sharma's second wife said, "We met through a matrimonial website and got married in March 2015. After I gave birth to a girl child, Sharma refused to accept our daughter and his family had cut all ties with me.

When I went to in-law house in Hyderabad my in-laws did not allow me to enter. With no means of living, I have now planned to file a formal complaint with Punjab police as our marriage was solemnized in Punjab. I will only pray that Sharma gets stringent punishment and must be jailed so that he does not targets any other women and he should start respecting women rather than harassing them".

Meanwhile, Amboli police produced him in the court and he was sent to Judicial custody.
