"My daughter was under tremendous mental pain because of it," said Pramila Parmar, Dipti's mother.

According to her relatives, Dipti's husband and in-laws would often taunt her by asking uneasy questions about her fidelity. According to sources, Dipti's brother-in-law Bharat and his wife Sarla had visited the family on Friday.

They had a quarrel over some issue, during which Bharat and Sarla alleged that Dipti is having an extra-marital affair with someone and even claimed that Siddhesh is not Nilesh's biological son.

Sources say that Dipti tried her to pacify the visitors and said that she is loyal to her husband, but it had no effect on them. "The kid was also suffering because of this. Dipti had shared the trauma with her parents," said another relative.

On Friday afternoon, Dipti even left her home to visit her maternal home in Central Mumbai, but she changed her plan and returned from the railway station. Sources say that Dipti was also depressed because of the rumours that Nilesh was having an illicit relationship with his sister-in-law Sarla.

The Dahisar police recorded the statement of Dipti's parents, and based on it, registered a case of abettment of suicide against Nilesh and his family members.

"We are going through the allegations made by the family of the deceased and everything will be verified. The witnesses will also be questioned," said police inspector Jaywant Mane of Dahisar police station.

The cops are also probing whether  the duo was thrown from the terrace by someone.
