MUMBAI: The additional day of power staggering being implemented in industrial areas since February 11 due to acute power shortage in Maharashtra has been withdrawn with immediate effect.

"The additional staggering day was a measure undertaken in view of the power shortage situation as a temporary step which has now been withdrawn following availability of around 400 MW of power to the state," Ram Dotonde, chief public relations officer of the Mahavitaran, the state's power distribution company said.

"We have started getting 100 MW from Haryana, 100 MW from Kawas project and between 150-200 MW from Mahanirmiti power projects," Dotonde said, adding that as a result of this the one day extra of load shedding being implemented in industrial areas in the state was being withdrawn.
