MUMBAI: An accused in the case related to the abduction and murder of teenager Adnan Patrawala on Saturday moved a court here to seek anticipatory bail.

The application of Lallan came up for hearing before Principal Sessions Judge Ashok Bhangale, who adjourned it till September 3.

Lallan's lawyer told the court that four accused had been arrested and the question of his client's involvement in the crime did not arise.

Prosecution lawyer Ramnath Kini, however, strongly opposed Lallan's application, saying it was a murder case and the involvement of the accused should be determined on the basis of the police report.

Kini also sought time to submit the report.

Adnan, 16, was allegedly strangled by his friends who kidnapped him and demanded a ransom of Rs two crore for his release. His body was found in Navi Mumbai.
