Mukesh Sharma has reportedly told the police that he had gone for a satsang (religious programme) to Navi Mumbai where he met a person, who offered him Rs1 lakh for the job.
Kabir Hussein Noor Islam Suleman Sardar alias Mukesh Sharma, who has been arrested for murdering Monginis cake shop owner Angaara Pujari inside his shop in Goregaon on Saturday has reportedly told the police that he had gone for a satsang (religious programme) to Navi Mumbai, where he met a person, who offered him Rs1 lakh for the job.
According to the sources, 29-year-old Kabir told the police that the person who gave him Angaara Pujari’s supari had told him that the target should not be shot dead and should only be threatened by firing in the air.
In his statement to the police, Kabir has reportedly told the police that he was an unemployed youth and was in desperate need of money. At a satsang, a person (Kabir has not revealed his name yet) befriended him and offered him the job. Since Kabir was not a habitual shooter, he ended up firing at the target and eventually killing him. “We are trying to verify this statement for he could be trying to save himself and his accomplice,” said a senior police officer.
The police have launched a man-hunt for the person who hired Kabir and the one who was keeping a watch outside the cake shop.
