The accused have been identified as Milind Idekar and Ramesh Teli.

According to ACB officials, the accused were allegedly demanding Rs 50,000 from a complainant who is an owner of a bar in Mahim to give illegitimate favors.

The complainant alleged that for avoiding a stern action against him, the accused had allegedly demanded Rs 50,000 however after negotiating the accused agreed to take Rs 20,000.

The complainant then approached the ACB and the officials started working on it.

"We have received a complaint from the bar owner about the demands and harassment by the accused and after receiving the complaint it was thoroughly verified. As we found the information a genuine one, we started our probe and laid a trap. When Teli who is police naik and orderly of Idekar was red-handed caught by our official while he was accepting cash Rs 20 thousand from complainant. We immediately registered a case and has taken them into our custody," said Vivek Phansalkar, Additional Director General (ACB).

Earlier in March 2015, the ACB had arrested three policemen from Mahim police station over graft charges.
