A 65-year-old man, living alone in a posh Colaba sea-facing flat at Sagar Sangeet building, was found in a decomposed state by the city police, late on Thursday night. Identified as Al Farooque Qabali, he lived alone on the 30th floor in a 4BHK over the last three years following a divorce. Cops suspect that he may have died four days ago and have registered an accidental death report. The body was discovered when the manager of the society went to meet Qabali to inform him that water was leaking from his flat's washroom, and instead noticed a foul smell emanating from the flat. When no one responded, he informed the police."We immediately rushed to the flat and broke open the door to find his body lying on the floor near the sofa. The house was in an unkempt state, despite it's posh location," said the investigating officer."Qabali has two sons who live in the US and a daughter who lives in Mumbai. His former wife refused to take his body and we have now informed his sons," he added.
