6 injured as BEST bus rams into trees at BKC
The entire upper deck of the bus was flattened
A double decker bus of Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) met with a major accident in the business district of Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai on Wednesday afternoon.
Bus route number 310 was ferrying commuters from Bandra Railway Station to Kurla Railway Station. While driving towards the median side of the road,the bus hit a couple of branches of the trees planted on the median.
The impact was such that the entire upper deck of the bus was flattened. As per the primary details, six passengers sustained injuries and were rushed to a local hospital.
The double decker buses are iconic to Mumbai. This is the second such accident in the area. In 2012, a double decker bus had toppled over at Kala Nagar, barely 200 metres from the present accident location.
