4 detained with Rs 1.40 cr cash at Andheri

DN Nagar police on Friday evening detained four persons and seized cash Rs 1.40 crore of Rs 2000 denomination.
Those detained have been identified as gold and diamond traders Vishal Jhaveri, Jayendra Jhaveri, Hitesh Bhavish and driver Jyoti Swami.
According to the police, during a nakabandi at Juhu-Versova Link Road in Andheri (W), the police intercepted a suspicious car and on searching the police found cash Rs 1.40 crore in the car.
"We have detained the four persons and have seized the cash. We have also informed to Income Tax Department about the same," Said Dhanaji Nalawade, Senior police inspector of D. N. Nagar police Station.
