32-year-old man attempts suicide in Dadar

A 32-year-old man reportedly tried to commit suicide at his Dadar residence late on Wednesday night. Vijay Bahadur Singh shot himself on the right side of his chest with a revolver registered in the name of his father.

Confirming the incident, deputy commissioner of police (DCP), zone V, Paramjit Singh Dahiya said, "At the time of the incident, the entire family was present in the house. Singh locked himself in one of the rooms and shot himself. He was immediately rushed to the Lilavati Hospital, where he is still under treatment."

"Singh lives with wife and three children, his two brothers and their families. At the time of the incident, his sister was also present in the house. According to her, Singh was depressed for the last five years and had been undergoing psychiatric treatment. He had been unemployed for the last couple of years and was stressed about it," Dahiya said.
