MUMBAI: Three persons, including a member of a political outfit floated by gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli, were arrested in connection with the murder of Shiv Sena corporator Kamlakar Jamsandikar, police said.

Police suspect political rivalry to be motive for the murder.

"We have arrested Akhila Bharatiya Sena member Ajit Rane along with Pratap Godse and Ganesh Salvi in connection with the case," Additional Commissioner of Police (west) Bipin Bihari said here on Monday.

The police did not divulge the role played by the trio in the murder.

Jamsandikar, a three-time Sena corporator, was shot dead by two assailants in his home in northwest Mumbai on March 2.
