Fearing that the train they were traveling in had caught fire, three passengers jumped out of it only to be crushed by another train moving in opposite direction.

The unfortunate accident took place between Samet and Lasalgaon railway stations, near Nashik on Tuesday evening.

According to railway sources, passengers traveling in Mumbai bound Tapovan Express which had stopped between Samet and Lasalgaon railway stations, near Nashik, due to some technical fault, feared that the train had caught fire. Instant panic caused ruckus as passengers started running. Three passengers, two men and a women, in panic jumped out of Tapovan Express at around 6.20 pm. Unfortunately, they were killed by Delhi bound Mangala Express moving in opposite direction.

The driver of Mangala Express is said to have reported the accident at Manmad railway station where the train halted after it left Nashik Road.
