The minors have been sent to a children’s remand home in Dongri. According to the police, the incident took place on July 29 when the 14-year-old girl was alone at the Kurla railway terminus waiting room.

The prime accused, Santosh Rathod, 21, accompanied by his accomplices, allegedly kidnapped the victim. After failing to find the girl, her uncle lodged a complaint with the GRP.  The cops, during the initial course of investigation, learned that the victim has been in love with Rathod and therefore could have possibly gone with him.

The sleuths searched for Rathod and the victim at all the possible places, but failed to get any clue. However, the victim was finally traced to a flat in Mumbra, where she was confined at the home of the female accused.

Investigations later revealed that the victim was raped by Rathod four times. The medical examination also confirmed rape. The female revealed the names of her accomplices and the plan of kidnapping.

“Further investigation is on. The case becomes more serious as minors are involved,” said senior police inspector SS Dhumal of GRP (Kurla).
