The Chembur police on Friday arrested three persons, including a minor, for the gang rape of a 13-year-old girl. The arrested persons, Suraj Badve, 19, Avinash Sadaphule, 21, and an 18-year-old boy, are all residents of Lal Dongar area of Chembur.
The police said the victim is a class 6 student. She had been in a relationship with the 18-year-old boy for the past eight months. On Wednesday, the boy asked the victim to meet him at a spot in Lal Dongar area. Without informing her parents, the girl left home and met the boy and two of his friends — Badve and Sadaphule .
Then the four had dinner and consumed alcohol together. The trio then raped the girl in a hut in the area. When the girl did not return home, her father lodged a missing person’s complaint. The girl returned home on Thursday and narrated the incident. Her father then lodged a case of gangrape against the trio at the police station.
