1.     The first and most important thing I associate with my neighbourhood is nostalgia. I have grown up in Bandra and been here all my life.2.     I love the ocean, as seen from Carter Road.3.     I love Jogger’s Park and now that I have a baby, I like taking her there for a stroll.4.    I love the promenades at both Carter Road and Bandstand for the simple reason that they give me a sense of familiarity. When I go on early morning shoots at say, 6 a.m. I see many familiar faces that range from the ages of six to ninety. I have ‘promenade friends’ with whom I exchange pleasantries. Even a smile can infuse you with so much warmth.5.    I love the sense of peace and tranquillity that exists in this area.6.    While traffic has become crazy on the outer roads of Bandra, here it is minimal.7.    This area is one of the few places in Mumbai that still has its greenery intact.8.    I love the voice of the koel bird as it takes me back to the days of the past—lazy afternoons spent freely with the voice of the koel in the background, especially in summer.9.    I love the variety of food that is available in this area, from the local bhelwala outside my locality to Jai Sandwichwala on Linking Road. Good restaurants are popping up in every nook and corner of this neighbourhood; I especially like Villa Vandre.10.    Finally, the neighbourhood becomes magical during Christmas time. Familiar Goan-styled homes are lit up beautifully, especially at D’Monte Park. Also, on Christmas Eve, you can hear the carols being sung.
