'Friends: The Reunion' Story:

The cast of 'Friends' reunites for a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of the hit series. An unforgettable evening filled with iconic memories, uncontrollable laughter, happy tears and special guests.

'Friends: The Reunion' Review:

For the first time in 17 years, the cast of 'Friends' reunited for a special celebration of the beloved, smash-hit comedy series. Taped on the original soundstage, 'Friends: The Reunion' finds Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer joined by moderator James Corden and a star-studded roster of special guests as they relive the show's fan favourite and unforgettable moments.

For more than 25 years, the show's fans have considered themselves as the seventh friend who lives under the same roof and breathes the same air as them. While watching the reunion, it feels like you have bumped into an old friend. Could you be any more excited?

The unscripted show starts with the cast starting from David to Matthew entering Stage 24 where they originally shot for the show.

The reunion goes back and forth from the time they visited their apartments, reminiscing the moments to James quizzing them with age-old questions answers to which many fans already knew.

In this nearly two-hour-long episode, a dozen of guests dropped in from every part of the world (thanks to the Zoom era). A few attended the reunion and many celebs -- from David Beckham, BTS to Malala Yousafzai -- who are also fans of the show, pre-recorded their stint talking about their favourite moments. Not just that, even the fans of the show across the globe including people from India, Ghana, Japan and others shared how 'Friends' changed their lives and continue to do so.

It's 'Friends', how can the actual guest stars from the show not be mentioned? Or like how David mentioned Brad Pitt, "Then there was your fellow, Brad." To which Jen replied, "Ya, Pitt was there too."

Aniston even teased Perry for getting Julia Roberts on the show as they were 'seeing' each other back then. Schwimmer revealed his fan moment when Sean Penn made an appearance and he was dressed as a potato.

The episode has innumerable fun-filled moments to tear-jerking sequences which were padded one after the other. The makers of the show David Crane, Marta Kauffman and Kevin Bright speak about how they cast these six characters and the minute they went on air it changed everyone's lives.

The six of them sit together for a table-read session where they read the dialogues from the popular episodes 'The One Where Everybody Finds Out' and also 'The One Where Ross Finds Out' (don't miss the BTS story).

It was all hunky-dory like the 20-24 runtime of 'Friends' episode and although a few of them had problematic sequences, they chose not to talk about it. It was just to relive the happy moments and not recall their 'worst' Thanksgivings.

But they also spoke about how they felt during the filming of certain sequences such as when Matthew revealed he would get anxious if he felt the audience is not laughing at him. He said, "I felt like I was going to die if I didn't get a laugh, I'd sweat, have convulsions." Consequently, the other five give an intense reaction but didn't go overboard knowing about his past addictions. Moreover, Perry didn't speak much compared to other people which is in contrast to the character Chandler Bing.

The cast even spoke about Lisa having the loudest and most infectious laugh (Still has it!). While David revealed that he hated his pet monkey 'Marcel' and just wanted to get done with the sequences featuring him.

Let's talk about fans in India, who watch the show on Netflix. Ever since the OTT platform added the top 10 feature, there hasn't been a single day 'Friends' hasn't featured on it. It speaks of the impact the show has on fans living here and you can watch them reunite for 10 long seasons daily.

But an age-old question 'Will they do it again?' Hopefully not and rightly said by Lisa towards the end, "I don't want anybody's happy ending unravelled."

'Friends: The Reunion' Verdict:

Yes, they were on a break and the reunion is what you call a 'closure'!
