Your Samsung smartphone may soon get new Android OS update, know how

Samsung, so far, has rolled out Android 11-based OneUI 3.0 only to its premium budget smartphones such as the Galaxy Z Flip 5G foldable phone.

One of the leading mobile brands, Samsung has some good news for its customers. The low range or the budget Samsung smartphones are to soon get the newest Android OS update. 

Samsung, so far, has rolled out Android 11-based OneUI 3.0 only to its premium budget smartphones such as the Galaxy Z Flip 5G foldable phone. Now, the mobile giant is in the process of bringing its One UI 3.0 to its budget smartphone as well.

Samsung has opened the One UI 3.0 beta program for its budget Galaxy A-series and Galaxy M-series smartphones. And it is kicking off this process by inviting the Galaxy M31 users and the Galaxy A51 users to join the program.

The news comes as a courtesy of the company's community pages in India and Korea. While Galaxy M31 users can register for the One UI 3.0 beta program in India, Galaxy A51 users can do so in Korea.

Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite smartphones in India and Spain have already started receiving Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update, as per a report. The update brings along One UI 3.0 features, such as redesigned UI elements, enhanced quick panel, improved dynamic lock screen as well as updated Samsung apps.

The update also brings the December 2020 Android security patch. However, other phones in this series, such as the Samsung Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and the Galaxy S10 5G haven't received the update yet.

How to upgrade newest Android OS on your smartphone?

- Registrations for the One UI 3.0 beta program has begun from December 23.

- To join this program, Galaxy M31 or the Galaxy A51 users need to go to the Samsung Members app on their phones.

- Tap on the banner to sign up for the One UI 3 beta program.

- Once they have registered for the program, they will get a beta version of the One UI 3.0 on their devices soon.

It is worth noting that Samsung has also shared the entire list of Galaxy A-series and Galaxy M-series smartphones that will be eligible to join the program in the coming days. The A-series that will be eligible for the update includes Galaxy A21, Galaxy A31, Galaxy A51, Galaxy A71 among others. The M-series that will be eligible for the update includes Galaxy M01, Galaxy M11, Galaxy M21, Galaxy M51 and Galaxy M31 Prime.
