Heading towards the end of the year is generally marked with the launch of some really impressive phones and gadgets and people are left sighing for not having the patience to wait.

With the rapid change in the technology and up-gradation of gadgets at a supersonic rate, it becomes difficult to settle for just one. While the Apple iPhone 12 and Google Pixel 5 may headline the line-up of the impressive range of smartphones that are set to be unveiled later this year, there is plenty of room yet for more fabulous pieces of smartphone that are to be revealed in the latter half of 2020.

So if you are all set to invest in a new phone, you might consider thinking again as we come up with a list of upcoming phones for the second half of 2020. Decide for yourself if these are worth waiting for:

1. Samsung Galaxy Note20 series

The Samsung Galaxy Note20 and the Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra form a part of Samsung's new Galaxy Note 20 series.

With a curved 6.9-inch AMOLED display, QHD+ resolution, and 120 Hz rapid refresh rate, the Galaxy Note20 Ultra smartphone is exactly as was expected. The smartphone will have a triple-camera setup and a superb 108-megapixel sensor camera, and two other 12 MP cameras.

The standard Samsung Galaxy Note20, on the other hand, will have a flat 6.7-inch screen with an FHD+ display and 60Hz rapid refresh rate. It will have a 64-megapixel sensor and two other 12 MP cameras.

The smartphones will be powered by the Exynos 990 chip and will go for sale on pre-order on August 21.

Apple's iPhone 12 series is arguably the most anticipated smartphone series of the lot, as reports suggest the new iPhone will keep the all-screen face while adopting a flattened metal frame akin to the iPad Pro-style design.

The exact specifications are still a mystery but there are rumours that say that the smartphones will have OLED display for all four models and will be powered by A14 Bionic chipset and more RAM.

3. Google Pixel 5

Google Pixel 5 is another much-anticipated smartphone slated for later this year and although not much is known about it, tech watchers say that Pixel 5 will presumably have a big camera array and a brushed metal frame.

A report by the Front Page Tech suggests that it will carry a giant triple-camera setup on the back and Google could also return to its Soli radar chip plus a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset to power the smartphone.

An important highlight of the Google Pixel 5 is that it will have 5G support. Meanwhile, a 5G version of the Pixel 4a is on its way as well.

4. Google Pixel 4A

Speaking of which, Google had earlier this month introduced the new affordable smartphone Pixel 4a starting at $349 for the lone 6GB+128GB model in the US that will arrive in India in October. The company said it will reveal the price for the Indian market closer to its launch, which will be available for purchase on Flipkart.

The smartphone features a 5.8-inch OLED display and will come in 'Just Black' color. The phone has a matte finish and includes a Pixel`s signature color pop power button in mint.

Google is keeping the same camera module that it used in Pixel 3, 3A, and Pixel 4: Sony`s 12MP IMX363. The rear camera supports HDR+ with dual exposure controls, Portrait Mode, Top Shot, Night Sight with astrophotography capabilities, and fused video stabilization. There is also an optical image stabilization (OIS). For selfies, the phone has an 8MP camera sensor at the front, with an f/2.0 lens.

The Pixel 4a is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G Mobile Platform, Titan M security module for on-device security, 6 GB RAM, and 128GB internal storage. The smartphone houses a 3140mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging.

Last but not the least, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 looks right out of the pages of sci-fi as a futuristic-looking gadget that the company actually confirmed will be released later in the near future. This is the second phone in the series where Samsung is attempting the 'foldable phone' design that started with the original Galaxy Fold.

Some of the flaws of the original Fold has been now revised in the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, specifically changing the small-awkwardly sized external screen that has now been made much taller and the giant camera model in the upper corner.

While there is no news on the presumed price of the smartphone or its estimated release date, it is being presumed that the futuristic mobile phone will be released sometime later this year.
