Apple on Tuesday announced its latest generation of iPhone, iPhone X on the occasion of the brand's 10th anniversary. The first iPhone was launched in 2007. Since then, the company did not look back and has created a loyal fan base of million iPhone crazy people across the globe.

Launched in January, 2007 after years of rumours and speculation. The first generation iPhone featured quad-band GSM cellular connectivity with GPRS and EDGE support for data transfer. The model was discontinued on July 15, 2008 after selling around 6.1 million devices worldwide. 

This was a successor of iPhone first generation and was launched on June, 2008. In comparison to the its predecessor it looked same but had major changes in hardware such as GPS, 3G data and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA. 

Apple released the iPhone 3G across 22 countries in two storage options, 8GB and 16GB. 

It was introduced on June, 2009 under the slogan, "The fastest, smartest phone yet". The device was discontinued on September, 2012. The new features of the iPhone 3GS are mainly internal changes regarding speed. 

The iPhone 4 was first unveiled on June, 2010, with its introduction at the global platform, with the slogan, 'This changes everything. Again." Aplle, claimed it to be the thinnest smartphone in the world. 

The iPhone 4 received generally positive reception, with critics praising its revamped design and more powerful hardware in comparison to previous models.

Announced in October in 2011, 4S was the face of fourth generation of iPhone. The 'S' in iPhone 4S stood for Siri- an iPhone 4S-exclusive intelligent personal assistant that was later included in future generations of mobile Apple products.

The sixth generation of iPhone was first revealed in September in 2012. It was the first iPhone that was completely developed under the guidance of Tim Cook and the last iPhone which was overseen by Steve Jobs.

It was the first time when a newly launched iPhone had been sold at a discounted price unlike its predecessors. The slogan that the firm gave for a variant of iPhone 5 was ,"For the colorful".

After months of speculation, the firm unveiled iPhone 6S and 6 Plus in 2015. The critics, however, gave them a thumbs down because of similarities to the previous devices. 

iPhone 6S also introduced a new hardware feature known as “3D Touch”, which enabled pressure-sensitive touch inputs.

The iPhone SE was unveiled on March 21, 2016, at Apple’s Cupertino headquarters, and was released on March 31, 2016.

iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus were announced in September, 2016. The iPhone 7’s overall design was similar to the iPhone 6S, but it was introduced in new color options with water and dust resistance, static home button, without the 3.5 mm headphone jack.

With edge-to-edge display screens and no home buttons, iPhone X introduced at the starting price of $999 for the 64GB version. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus also revealed during the 10th Apple anniversary. The devices are more or less resemble to iPhone 7, however, the new offerings come with a glass back for wireless charging, which Apple claims is the most durable glass ever in a smartphone.
