Commentary :
0.0 : If you thought England would steamroll the Windies in the Test series, you got your answer. If you thought the number one ranked side would outplay the number nine ranked side, you were wrong. Now the Windies enter their most favored and preferred format. The T20Is. What a chance for the hosts to end this long, long tour on a high. If the Three Lions thought this series was a waste, they got their reality check. Many players missing for the shortest format of this series and it will be interesti

Denly tossed this up on middle and Bravo, looking to flick missed and was hit right in front of the stumps. Denly appealed but the umpire turned it down. Now, the bowler asked the keeper something and it would be interesting to see what Bairstow replied. Looked to be plumb in the first replay.
12.5 : Joe Denly to D Bravo, Full and around middle, flicked to deep mid-wicket for a run. The crowd is not happy and is jeering. It wanted the second run to be taken.
12.6 : Joe Denly to N Pooran, Full and around off, pushed towards cover.

14.1 : A Rashid to N Pooran, Full and around middle, Pooran unfurls the reverse sweep and gets it behind point for a single.
14.2 : A Rashid to C Brathwaite, Outside off, driven straight to cover.
14.3 : A Rashid to C Brathwaite, Full and outside off, Brathwaite has a wild swing but misses.
14.4 : A Rashid to C Brathwaite, OUT! Sharp catch from Jonny Bairstow! The persistence of Rashid pays off. He has been extremely frugal and eventually, has been rewarded. The googly, outside off, Brathwaite goes back to cut but is too close to the ball. Perhaps he did not pick that at all. Hence gets an outside edge but Bairstow behind takes a wonderful catch. Not even a fumble, in spite of standing so close. Another innings not worth remembering for the big man...
Fabian Allen enters the arena now, at number 7, replacing Brathwaite.
14.5 : A Rashid to F Allen, Outside off, short in length, punched straight to point.
14.6 : A Rashid to F Allen, Full and outside off, played straight to point. Spectacular over from Rashid - just a run and a wicket from it. Rashid's figures read 3-0-6-1!

L Plunkett to N Pooran, Bounce again on the off side, Pooran angles it towards third man for a run.

16.3 : Joe Denly to N Pooran, Pushes this towards long on for a run.
16.4 : Joe Denly to F Allen, SIX! Just over! Fabulous effort from Sam Billings. Full and outside off, Allen reaches out and plays the slog sweep. He does not get as high an elevation as he desired but just manages to clear a leaping Billings at the mid-wicket fence, who leaps and tries to parry the ball in airborne but in vain.
16.5 : Joe Denly to F Allen, OUT! Caught next ball. Cannot really blame the youngster as we are approaching the final stages of this innings. Full and outside off, Allen gives himself room to the leg side and looks to clear long off but only finds Chris Jordan with ease.
The next man in is Jason Holder.
16.6 : Joe Denly to N Pooran, Full and on middle, pushed through mid on for a run. 15 runs from the over but the wicket of Allen as well.
Tom Curran to bowl the 18th over. 2-0-14-2 so far.
17.1 : Tom Curran to N Pooran, Wide. Way wide outside off, easy decision for the umpire.
Tom Curran to N Pooran, Great comeback. Yorker on the stump, Pooran does well to get bat to it.
17.2 : Tom Curran to N Pooran, SIX! New ball please! Oh, boy! A 111 meter maximum. In the slot for Pooran who slogs this over mid-wicket for a huge, huge hit. The ball has been lost and the umpires call for a new one. This is Pooran's highest T20I sore now.
17.3 : Tom Curran to N Pooran, Back of a length ball outside off, Pooran goes for the pull but connects with thin air.
17.4 : Tom Curran to N Pooran, In the air.. safe. Pooran gets low to slog it but the ball gets a top edge but falls safely towards mid-wicket. They come back for the second.
17.5 : Tom Curran to N Pooran, OUT! Cleans him up! You miss, I hit stuff from Curran who gets his third of the evening. Length ball on middle, Pooran swings but cannot get behind it. The ball makes a mess of the timber. A good innings from the southpaw comes to an end.
Ashley Nurse walks in to bat at number 9, replacing Pooran.
17.6 : Tom Curran to A Nurse, WIDE! Bouncer which is above head height. Another extra given.
Tom Curran to A Nurse, Slower ball at 109 kph on the stumps, Nurse flicks it towards square leg and takes just one.
Adil Rashid to bowl out in the 19th. 3-0-6-1 so far.
18.1 : A Rashid to A Nurse, Short and outside off, Nurse backs away and heaves. Only gets a top edge which does not even carry to mid off. No fielder there anyways. A single taken.
18.2 : A Rashid to J Holder, Outside off, slogged towards wide long on for a run.
18.3 : A Rashid to A Nurse, WIDE. Too wide outside off, Ashley cannot connect with his mighty slog.
A Rashid to A Nurse, MISFIELD, FOUR! That is unfortunate for Tom Curran. Short and outside off, Nurse punches this through the covers. Curran runs to his right from the deep, gets to the ball but while bending to pick the ball up, his spikes get stuck in the ground! The ball goes through.
18.4 : A Rashid to A Nurse, Tossed up, outside off, another heave-ho missed.
18.5 : A Rashid to A Nurse, Slower ball, outside off, fuller in length, pushed towards cover for one.
18.6 : A Rashid to J Holder, Full and around middle, AN has a wild heave and the ball goes of the inner half of the bat towards short fine leg. A single taken. Brilliant from Rashid - 4-0-15-1!
19.1 : Tom Curran to J Holder, FOUR! Unfortunate. Nothing the bowler can do about it. An inch perfect yorker on the leg stump. The ball squeezes of the inside edge and runs away to the fine leg boundary.
19.2 : Tom Curran to J Holder, Short ball outside off, Holder swings but doesn't get it off the sweet spot. Falls to cow corner where they take one.
19.3 : Tom Curran to A Nurse, Fuller ball on off, Nurse swings. It goes off the inner half to deep square leg for a brace.
19.4 : Tom Curran to A Nurse, FOUR! Innovation from Nurse. Curran bowls a faster one on the leg side. Nurse gets into position and paddles it fine to the fine leg boundary. 2 balls left, 11 from the over.
19.5 : Tom Curran to A Nurse, BYES! Slower fuller ball outside off, Nurse swings but cannot make contact. They run of the byes. The keeper misses of at the striker's end and Curran misses at the other end. They complete the run.
19.6 : Tom Curran to J Holder, OUT! Wicket of the last ball. Low full toss in line of the stumps, Jason swings but not with no real power. The ball goes towards long off where Billings takes an easy catch. Windies end with 160/8 after 20 overs.
A competitive total posted by the Windies. The last 5 overs have yielded 58. At one stage, they did not even look like crossing 150. We are in for a contest.
After being put in to bat, there were no fireworks from the Windies top order. Gayle, Hope and Hetmyer were dismissed in the Powerplay but then Bravo and Pooran stitched together a stand of 64. At that stage, it looked like 170 was on the cards. But Bravo's wicket turned the tide again with the home side losing its way before Pooran dragged the total past 150.
Special mention for Nicholas Pooran. A well-compiled knock of 58 from 37 balls, combining caution with aggression. He got good support from Bravo but nothing from the rest. Nice to see such maturity on young shoulders.
It was Tom Curran's day. He was at his best at the death, grabbing his maiden 4-fer in T20Is. But the pick of the bowlers was Adil Rashid, with a frugal 4-0-15-1. Curiously, Chris Jordan did not bowl his full quota of 4 overs, in spite of going for only 16 in his 3 overs and taking 2 scalps, which included a sensational caught and bowled of Bravo.
161 to win for England. A look at their faces and it tells us that they believe that they can get this. But can they? The pitch has plenty of bounce and it may not be an easy run chase. But should be an exciting one. Stay tuned...
