Match over
1.6 : 1.6: J Hazlewood to L Rahul, OUT! Rahul is caught at third slip! Early blow to India. This is beautiful bowling by Hazlewood. He's getting the ball to move both ways and hunts down one of the Indian openers. Serves it full enough outside off to entice a drive from Rahul. But it's an away swinger which takes a thick outside edge and settles into the big hands of Finch. KL's poor form continues.
5.5 : 5.5: J Hazlewood to Vijay, FOUR! First boundary of this Test match! A loose one though. Vijay is caught playing away from his body. It's full and wide outside off, Murali chases it and slices his drive off the outside half. Luckily for him, it goes aerially but safely through backward point for a boundary.
6.6 : 6.6: M Starc to Vijay, OUT! It's edged behind! Murali Vijay is gone. Starc jumps in joy. India have lost both their openers, cheaply. Mitch has been mixing up his length quite nicely. He follows up the previous one by serving a juicy full delivery outside off. Vijay is lured into the drive but the ball doesn't come back in enough, takes the outside edge and goes into the gloves of Paine. He was nowhere near to the delivery, his front foot went missing. Vijay is on his way back. Best possible sta
10.3 : 10.3: Pat Cummins to V Kohli, OUT! Stunner by Khawaja to remove India's best batsman! You need something incredible to dismiss Virat Kohli. Australia are ecstatic, they know the value of this wicket. India in deep trouble. Once again an Indian batsman is caught playing away from the body. Cummins serves this one on a good length and outside off, Kohli goes for a drive and gets a big fat outside at backward point. Now, the real action begins. Khawaja is stationed there. It's to his stronger side.
11.4 : 11.4: J Hazlewood to Pujara, FOUR! Shot, nicely played. The pressure is released, momentarily. Back of a length ball outside off, Pujara on his toes punches it behind backward point to earn himself a boundary.
15.5 : 15.5: N Lyon to Rahane, SIX! This is what they have been trying to do. They don't want Nathan Lyon to settle down and hence using their feet a lot. Once again Rahane shimmies down the track to a full ball and swings it with the spin over mid-wicket. Interestingly, Jinx doesn't hit a lot of sixes in T20 cricket but has done so on the first morning of a Test match. Hmm...
20.2 : 20.2: J Hazlewood to A Rahane, OUT! Add another one to the tally for Australia. Like his teammates, Rahane has also gone chasing a wide delivery. Hazlewood just lands it on a length and wide outside off. Gets a hint of away movement as well. Rahane could have left it easily but goes after it away from his body. Tries driving without his front foot entirely forward and gets a big outside edge behind. Peter Handscomb makes no mistake (this time) at second slip. Good bowling change by Paine. India'
23.4 : 23.4: N Lyon to Sharma, FOUR! Loopy off spinner outside off, Rohit takes his front leg forward and drives it crisply on the up through covers. Finds the gap and fetches his first boundary.
25.4: Pat Cummins to Sharma, SIX! It has gone all the way! Kohli loves playing pull shots and this one is a shot of authority. Cummins digs it in, on middle and sits up nicely for the batsman. Rohit rides the bounce and pulls it in front of square leg for a biggie. Pat smiles and shares a few words with Sharma. It has begun.
27.2 : 27.2: Pat Cummins to Sharma, FOUR! Overpitched and duly punished. This is how Rohit Sharma bats. He will always punish the bad balls. It's full and outside off, Rohit leans forward and caresses it through covers.
33.3 : 33.3: Pat Cummins to Sharma, SIX! What a shot! This one comes out of nowhere! All timing, no power. He has just caressed his cover drive all the way over the fence. He is a special batsman. Unstoppable in the limited overs and trying to find his feet in Tests as well. Lazy elegance.
34.1 : 34.1: M Starc to Pujara, FOUR! Pujara finally wakes up. He has been defending everything coming his way. Spots the shorter delivery wide outside off, senses the opportunity to free his arms and smashes it over the slip cordon.
37.2 : 37.2: N Lyon to Sharma, SIX! Not the most convincing of ways but another maximum to Rohit's name. Loopy ball on middle, Rohit gets low and sweeps it aerially towards square leg. He gets just enough bat on it. Harris on the square leg rope takes the catch but then just steps outside the boundary line. He throws the ball back in play but was too late in doing so. The umpires check it up and then a biggie is signalled.
37.3 : 37.3: N Lyon to Sharma, OUT! Oh dear! What was Rohit thinking? Brain fade! Really. He played a similar shot on the previous ball and just managed to get it over the ropes but this time falls right into the trap. A bit flat this time from Lyon, on middle and off, Rohit thought it was going to be fuller, but it wasn't. Still goes for the swipe across the line. Gets a top edge on it and the ball flies towards square leg. Harris runs in and takes a simple catch. India have half their side back in th
39.5 : 39.5: N Lyon to Pujara, FOUR! The odd ball that is short and Che makes full use of it. Goes on his back foot and punches the ball square of the point fielder for a boundary.
40.2 : 40.2: M Starc to Pant, SIX! Lovely! Just the flick of the wrists and it has gone the distance. Full and on the legs, Pant leans forward and rotates his wrists. Makes proper connection and sends it flying over backward square leg for a biggie. 100 up for India.
40.3 : 40.3: M Starc to R Pant, FOUR! Edge but safe! That's the way he plays. Attack, attack and attack. Full and outside off, Pant looks to flick it away but gets a leading edge wide of the slip cordon. The ball rolls towards third man for a boundary. Rishabh smiles.
46.4 : 46.4: Pat Cummins to R Pant, FOUR! Nice! Elegant! Low full toss around off, Pant drives it in the gap through the cover region. The ball rolls away to the fence. Good batting.
49.1 : 49.1: N Lyon to Pant, OUT! A long delay but the finger is eventually raised. Lyon has been bowling great and gets another reward to his name. Flighted ball around off. The ball curls away just enough. Pant goes fishing just a bit and gets a feather behind. Tim takes the catch and appeals. The umpire stays put but then raises his finger. Pant walks. India in big trouble now.
52.3 : 52.3: J Hazlewood to Pujara, FOUR! Rare loose delivery from Hazlewood. Short ball outside off, Che cuts it and gets it up and over backward point. No fielder there and he gets four to his name.
62.5 : 62.5: M Starc to Pujara, DROPPED AND FOUR! Fuller ball outside off, Pujara who has been there for 168 balls goes for one outside the off stump. He gets a fat edge which flies just over Khawaja at gully. The replays show that Usman got fingertips to this and the ball trickles down to the third man fence. Will go down as a dropped catch but it was Khawaja's brilliance to get something on the ball. He has already taken a blinder in this innings.
73.5: Pat Cummins to Ashwin, FOUR! Shot! Lovely hands of Ashwin on display. A length delivery outside off, there is room on offer and Ashwin steers it through point for his first boundary. He has been very patient.
73.6 : 73.6: Pat Cummins to R Ashwin, OUT! The 62-run stand has been broken by a jaffa of a delivery. Cummins roars in delight. He dishes in a length delivery on middle and gets it to straighten off the seam after landing. Ashwin's intention is to play on the leg side but doesn't close the face of the bat in time. It takes the outside half of his bat and flies straight into the hands of Handscomb at second slip. End of a hard-fought knock by Ravichandran Ashwin. India now need their tail to wag. Still
76.2 : 76.2: N Lyon to Sharma, FOUR! That's a fine sweep shot from India's number 9. He goes down on one knee to a full ball and uses his long reach to his advantage. Connects well and sends it whistling to the square leg boundary.
82.4 : 82.4: M Starc to Sharma, OUT! Bowled 'em! It was only a matter of time. Starc was trying to do this on the previous ball as well but the line wasn't good. Bu this time, he is right on the money. Full and sharp and straight, Ishant is beaten for pace as he is late in bringing his bat down. It goes right through his defense, brushes his pads and then cannons onto the stumps. Starc gets his second wicket.
82.5 : 82.5: M Starc to Shami, FOUR! Starc eyes a yorker but ends up slipping a low full toss outside off, Shami reaches out for it and squeezes it through point for a boundary.
83.5: Hazlewood to C Pujara, SIX! Pujara breaks into the 90s! Not in a convincing manner but he won't care much at this stage. Takes on the challenge to pull the short delivery but it takes the top edge and flies over fine leg for a maximum. 5000 Test runs for him as well.
83.6 : 83.6: J Hazlewood to Pujara, FOUR! Pujara moves to 99 now! A much-better pull shot, this. Another short delivery by Josh and he hooks it behind square leg for a boundary.
86.4 : 86.4: M Starc to Pujara, FOUR! Finds the gap with perfection. A length ball on middle and leg, Pujara uses his wrists and flicks it beautifully behind square leg. He pierces the gap between fine leg and square leg with precision.
86.5 : 86.5: M Starc to Pujara, SIX! Bang! What a knock this is turning out to be! Starc digs in a short delivery outside off, Pujara exercises his arms and slams it over backward point for a biggie. Vital runs.
87.5: J Hazlewood to Pujara, OUT! Pujara is well short! Take a bow, Pat Cummins. They needed something magical to dismiss Pujara and it has come through an inspirational piece of fielding by Pat. A fuller length ball on middle, Pujara gently pushes it towards mid on and wants to retain strike for the next over. Hence he takes a chance and calls his partner through. However, Cummins attacks the ball, throws himself up in the air, has just one stump to aim at and he scores a direct hit at the non-
87.6 : 87.6: J Hazlewood to Shami, OUT! Strangled down the leg side! Hazlewood bowls a gentle loosener, it' short and going down the leg side. Shami tries to play the pull shot but ends up gloving it behind. Paine dives full length to his left and takes a fine catch. They appeal and the finger has gone up. India are all out for 250!
0.3 : 0.3: I Sharma to Finch, OUT! Stumps are destroyed! What a cracking beginning for India! Excellent delivery by Ishant and it's aided by some poor choice of shot by Aaron. The tall Indian bowler serves it on a length and once again gets it to shape back in a bit. Finch tries to drive it through the line, his footwork ain't good enough and it catches some inside edge of his willow before going to clatter the stumps. The Indian skipper as usual is all pumped up. A perfect start for India. Stumps fly
7.4 : 7.4: J Bumrah to Harris, FOUR! A late thought to play at it. Bumrah ups his pace and lets out a lethal short delivery around off at 147.7 kph. Harris initially tries to sway away from the line but at the very last moment, he has a change of mind. Plays at it with an angled bat and places his shot through the gap between slips and gully for a boundary.
9.6 : 9.6: J Bumrah to Khawaja, FOUR! Easy pickings! Bumrah drifts down the leg side, Khawaja picks it off his pads and deflects it fine down the leg side for a boundary.
17.4 : 17.4: R Ashwin to Harris, FOUR! Fine footwork, excellent shot. Ashwin gives it flight and serves it on a fuller length outside off, Harris wears his skate and powers it over the bowler's head. Looks like a confident young man.
19.3 : 19.3: R Ashwin to M Harris, FOUR! Shot! Tossed up ball outside off, Harris leans forward and flat-bats it through extra cover. Rahul gives it the chase and Ishant from long off also runs across to his right. The former probably pulls out thinking the latter will get to it. But no, the ball has gone to the fence.
21.1 : 21.1: R Ashwin to M Harris, OUT! Harris falls! Ashwin breaks the 45-run stand the debutant departs after impressing in his little knock. It's a beautifully tossed up delivery by Ashwin. He gets it to drift into the batsman and lands full around off. Harris presses forward to defend but gets an inside edge onto the pads. The ball pops out off his pads and Vijay takes the simplest of catches at silly point. Finally a breakthrough for India and they are looking relieved in their celebration. They h
27.6 : 27.6: R Ashwin to Marsh, OUT! Drags it on! Not for the first time in this Test match that a batsman has got out while attempting to drive away from his body. Excellent start to the session for India. They have managed to dismiss a big batsman from the opposition camp. A pretty much nothing delivery by Ashwin. He just puts it out on a driving length outside off and plays on the patience of the batsman. Marsh's front foot just goes straight through as he tries to drill it through covers. But it ta
34.3 : 34.3: M Shami to P Handscomb, FOUR! Streaky boundary! Shami lands a length ball just around off, Handscomb tries playing it with a straight bat but gets a thick outside edge through the gap between slips and gully for a boundary.
36.1 : 36.1: Shami to P Handscomb, TOP EDGE! FOUR! Risky but it's rewarded. Shami digs in a short delivery around off and Handscomb takes on the challenge to pull it across the line. There is some extra bounce which catches the top half of his willow and flies over the keeper for a boundary.
36.2 : 36.2: M Shami to Handscomb, FOUR! No half measures there. Width on offer outside off, a touch on the shorter side, Handscomb camps back and slashes hard at it. It speeds off the bottom half of his bat and goes through the gap at backward point.
36.6 : 36.6: M Shami to Handscomb, FOUR! Nicely played! An overpitched delivery on the pads, Peter leans across and clips it with beautiful timing through square leg for a boundary. First convincing boundary from his bat. Right from the middle.
39.3 : 39.3: R Ashwin to Khawaja, OUT! Khawaja has gloved it! Huge breakthrough for India as they get rid of the set batsman. Ashwin hunts down his third victim. Once again gets a good drift on his delivery and hurls it around off. Khawaja commits himself on the front foot as he leans forward to defend. But the ball spins away a bit to beat the outside edge of his bat. Although there is some sound as it goes past him and Pant after takes a fine catch lets out an appeal. Umpire Dharmasena shakes his hea
43.4 : 43.4: R Ashwin to Head, FOUR! A rare bad ball. Short and outside off, Head rocks back and cuts it through point. Mohammed Shami dives to his left but the ball goes through.
52.1 : 52.1: M Shami to Handscomb, FOUR! MURDERED! Stop the press! Australia have scored a boundary! A loosener from Shami, short and outside off, Handscomb likes that as it is a pressure reliever. Rocks back in a flash and pummels a pull through mid-wicket. The deficit is now 139. That is Handscomb's 5th boundary, taking him to 31.
57.3 : 57.3: J Bumrah to P Handscomb, OUT! Bumrah strikes this time! Handscomb is out of here. He tried hard in the middle but never looked convincing at the crease. A shortish length delivery has been delivered outside off, Handscomb leans back inside the crease with the intention to run it down to third man. But he fails to middle his shot and edges it into the mitts of Pant. The 33-run stand is broken and the Indian players are ecstatic. The deficit currently is 130.
60.2 : 60.2: M Shami to Paine, FOUR! Nicely played! This was the shot that Peter Handscomb probably attempted but edged. Width on offer outside off, Tim camps back and guides it past gully for a boundary.
62.6 : 62.6: I Sharma to Paine, OUT! Edged and gone! Beautiful delivery by Ishant. He was probing around the off stump line and eventually gets the better of the Aussie skipper. Just lands it on a length around off, Paine has to play the line as he tries to defend. But to his bad luck, the ball nips away ever so slightly to gather a faint outside edge. Pant makes no mistake and India are into the Australian tail now. 50th Test wicket for Ishant against Australia, only the second team against whom he ha
64.2 : 64.2: I Sharma to Head, FOUR! That's his strength! He receives a short delivery outside off and exercises his arms. Really packs a punch and sends it screaming through point for a boundary.
64.5 : 64.5: I Sharma to Head, FOUR! A good positive shot from Head. Sharma spreads a length delivery wide outside off, Travis with a superb hand-eye coordination crunches it through extra cover. Very limited footwork but good outcome.
70.4 : 70.4: M Shami to T Head, FOUR! Crunching drive by Head and he is now 7 short of a half century. He leans into a length ball and drives it crisply through covers. Kohli puts in a dive to his left but it's outside his reach. A boundary results.
70.6 : 70.6: M Shami to Head, FOUR! Wow, lovely straight drive. Growing in confidence, Head. Fullish delivery in line of the stumps, Travis brings down a straight bat and thumps it down the ground for a beautiful boundary.
78.1 : 78.1: M Vijay to Head, FOUR! Cracking shot to bring the highest stand in this innings. The deficit is now 76. Short and outside off, Head goes back in a flash and cuts it behind point for a boundary!
80.3 : 80.3: J Bumrah to Cummins, OUT! LBW it is and Australia lose Cummins and a review. A lovely delivery from Bumrah with the new nut. Similar to how Jos Buttler had been dismissed in the England series recently. A length ball outside off, Cummins shoulders arms, thinking that it is wide enough to be left alone. But the ball darts back in off the seam and hits him on the back thigh. Bumrah appeals and umpire Nigel Llong raises his finger! Cummins has a chat with Head and then signals for the review.
85.1 : 85.1: M Shami to Starc, FOUR! A useful boundary! A loosener from Shami, on a length wide outside off, Starc just angles his blade behind point and Ishant Sharma gives it up pretty early.
91.4 : 91.4: J Bumrah to Starc, OUT! Spot on bowling, Bumrah. Great execution, it's wider, it's fuller and Starc falls for it. Jasprit provides width and Starc's eyes lit up. The Australian number 9 tries to go big, swings his bat hard but only manages a thick outside edge behind to Pant. The Indians are celebrating. Early success for them. Starc must be disappointed, he has the ability to bat and just needed to partner Head there. The deficit is 46 runs and any lead for the tourists on this surface wi
93.4: J Bumrah to Lyon, EDGY FOUR! First boundary of the day and these are handy runs for Australia. Trail below 40 now. Good length around off, Lyon tries to defend but the ball takes an outside edge and goes down to the vacant third man region. Boundary.
97.2 : 97.2: R Ashwin to Lyon, FOUR! Lyon brings out the shot which he loves the most, the sweep shot. Does not get it off the middle as it flies off the top edge to the fine leg fence. The trail is only 25 now.
98.1 : 98.1: M Shami to Lyon, SIX! TAKEN! In the crowd that is! What a shot by Lyon. He says, enough of ducking under short balls. Takes on the challenge of pulling it, connects well and it sails over the square leg fence. Lyon is playing a gem here.
98.3 : 98.3: M Shami to Head, OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Shami gets the well-set Travis Head. He does not surpass his highest score. But a very important knock by him comes to an end. Shami bowls it outside off and it is on a length. Head maybe should have left the delivery but he ends up chasing it away from his body. The ball takes the outside edge and goes into the hands of Pant who accepts it. The bowling change has worked and the Indians will be relieved to break this stand. Australia are still 15 runs
98.4 : 98.4: M Shami to Hazlewood, OUT! India have the lead! Shami takes two in two. Another loose shot. It is short and outside off, Hazlewood throws his bat at it, gets an outside edge and Pant behind does the rest. Poor Lyon is left stranded. AUSTRALIA BOWLED OUT FOR 235!
9.5 : 9.5: J Hazlewood to Rahul, FOUR! Authoritative shot! Nothing much wrong with the delivery, it is slightly full and on off, Rahul plays the lofted cover drive and it races to the fence. First boundary off the bat.
10.6 : 10.6: Pat Cummins to L Rahul, FOUR! Streaky! They say if you go for the cut, you should go hard and that is exactly what Rahul does here. Slashes at the ball which is short and outside off, he gets an outside edge over the slip cordon and into the third man fence.
14.1 : 14.1: Pat Cummins to Rahul, SIX! How good was that? Wow! Take that, says Rahul to Cummins. Full and outside off, Lokesh deliberately plays the lofted square drive. The timing is such that it carries over the point fence.
14.3 : 14.3: Pat Cummins to Rahul, FOUR! Beautiful, just beautiful. Full and in the zone of Rahul. He strokes it through covers and the ball races away to the fence. He looks delightful when he plays through the off side. Also the fifty is up for India, first 50-partnership between the two away from home. Ideal start provided by the openers.
18.2 : 18.2: M Starc to Vijay, OUT! Starc strikes! Australia draw first blood. A much-needed wicket as this partnership was really starting to flourish. A similar way to how Vijay got out to Starc in the first innings. It is full and outside off, the sucker ball. Vijay is sucked into the drive, he plays it away from his body. The ball takes the outside edge and goes towards second slip where Handscomb takes a nice catch. India are effectively 78 for 1.
20.2: M Starc to Pujara, FOUR! Don't bowl there to him. He might come across as a defensive batsman but that's too short and wide to demand any respect. Plenty of width there and Pujara cracks it off his back foot through point.
24.2: J Hazlewood to Rahul, OUT! There goes another one! Rahul throws away the start and Australia slowly creeping back into the game. This is on a length and around off, Rahul goes for the lofted cover drive. The ball though was not full enough. It takes the outside edge and settles into the mitts of Paine.
32.6 : 32.6: J Hazlewood to Kohli, FOUR! A juicy half-volley on middle and leg, Kohli leans forward and across before flicking it beautifully through mid-wicket for a glorious boundary.
43.4 : 43.4: N Lyon to C Pujara, FOUR! Poor ball and it has been put away! Short and outside off, Pujara rocks back and pulls it through square leg for a boundary.
48.5 : 48.5: Pat Cummins to Pujara, Poor from Pat, bowls it down the leg. Che easily flicks it off through the third man region for a boundary. Pujara will punish those deliveries everyday of the week.
49.1 : 49.1: T Head to Kohli, FOUR! Welcome into the attack Head, says Kohli. Short and on middle, the batsman rocks back and pulls it through square leg for a boundary.
51.3 : 51.3: T Head to Pujara, FOUR! Another poor ball and it has been dispatched! Short and on middle, the batsman goes back and pulls it over mid-wicket and the ball races away.
52.1 : 52.1: M Starc to Kohli, FOUR! Easy pickings for Virat there. Full outside off, overpitched by Starc and Kohli punches it through the covers for a bounday. There are very few players who play the cover drive as beautifully as Virat.
57.1: N Lyon to Kohli, OUT! Lyon finally gets the breakthrough. Finally a ball takes an inside edge and goes to hand. The way the Australians celebrate tells you how relieved they are. Another Indian batsman can't make most of the start. This is tossed up outside off, it turns back in sharply, takes the inside edge, hits the pad and lobs to short leg. Finch there takes an easy catch. The stand which was taking the game away from the Aussies has been broken. This is the 6th time Lyon has got Kohl
62.5 : 62.5: J Hazlewood to Pujara, FOUR! First runs of the day and it's a boundary. Gets on his front foot and drives the ball through covers for a boundary. Overpitched by Starc this time outside off. The ball makes a sweet sound as soon as it hit Pujara's blade. No one's stopping that.
62.6 : 62.6: J Hazlewood to C Pujara, EDGY FOUR! Hazlewood serves it on a length around off and gets it to straighten a bit. Pujara plays inside the line from the crease and gets an outside edge. It speeds past the diving gully fielder for a boundary. The outfield certainly has quickened up today.
66.2 : 66.2: M Starc to Rahane, FOUR! Beautifulky punches off the back foot through backward point for a boundary. A very loose delivery by Starc there offers Rahane width and Ajinkya has no problem punishing it.
69.4 : 69.4: N Lyon to C Pujara, FOUR! Easily put away! A friendly long hop by Lyon, it's around off and this time Pujara picks it early. He immediately goes inside the crease and pulls it powerfully over mid-wicket.
73.2 : 73.2: N Lyon to Rahane, FOUR! Nice shot! Lyon pulls his length back and bowls it around off, Rahane goes deep inside the crease and pulls it with authority through mid-wicket for a boundary. Lead is now 200!
74.1 : 74.1: Pat Cummins to Rahane, FOUR! Shot! That found the sweet spot of his bat. Cummins delivers it on a length outside off, Rahane plays a punchy-drive through covers for a cracking boundary.
78.4 : 78.4: Pat Cummins to Pujara, FOUR! Bad delivery by Cummins there. With the form Pujara is in, he will hit these deliveries for a boundary even in his sleep. It was bowled short and down the leg, Che flicks it towards the fine leg region for a boundary.
80.3 : 80.3: M Starc to Rahane, FOUR! Shot of the session. Starc bowls it full on off, he gets a hint of inswing but Rahane hits is straight down the ground for a single. When Rahane is on song there are very few players as beautiful to watch.
82.6 : 82.6: M Starc to Pujara, WOW! Che going uppish. Short by Starc outside off, Pujara brings out the upper cut from his armour and flies it towards the third man region for a boundary.
87.6: N Lyon to C Pujara, OUT! First success for Australia this morning! Lyon gets a breakthrough finally. He has been the most impressive bowler for the Aussies and is rewarded for his perseverance. A tossed up delivery landing outside off, Pujara strides forward to wear it on his pads but it bounces extra, raps him on the front thigh pad and then takes some part of his gloves before lobbing to Finch at short. They appeal and the finger goes up. The 87-run stand is broken, devil's number benefi
89.6: N Lyon to Rahane, FOUR! Takes a good calculative risk and sends it across the fence. Loopy and around off, Rahane skips down the track and flicks it with the turn over mid-wicket for a boundary.
90.3 : 90.3: J Hazlewood to Rahane, FOUR! Fifty for the vice captain. A much needed one for him. He wasn't in the best of form before the start of this innings but it looks like that has changed. This is a delightful news for India and one that will dread Australia. Coming back to the ball it was short and Rahane picks the bones out of it. The ball races away towards the square leg region for four.
91.2 : 91.2: N Lyon to Sharma, OUT! Terrific catch by Peter Handscomb at silly point! Lyon strikes again and is all smiles. All the hard work is paying off now for the Aussie off spinner. Flighted delivery around off, turning back in slightly this time with extra bounce. Sharma is drawn forward in defense but fails to get his bat on it. It then pops out towards silly point where Peter reacts quickly and dives forward to take a one-handed catch inches above the surface. A bit similar to Pujara's wicket.
93.1 : 93.1: N Lyon to Pant, FOUR! Connects and connects well this time! Loopy full ball landing around off, Pant takes a big stride forward and muscles it over mid on for a boundary.
95.3 : 95.3: N Lyon to Pant, FOUR! Two balls spent defending and that's all. How refreshing is this player! Wears his skates to a full ball around leg and heaves it against the spin over mid-wicket for a boundary.
95.4 : 95.4: N Lyon to Pant, FOUR! Back-to-back boundaries for Rishabh. However, this time he didn't get the connection right. Jumps out of the crease and swings his bat across the line. It takes the inside half of the bat but still speeds away through mid-wicket for a boundary.
95.5 : 95.5: N Lyon to Pant, FOUR! Pant is going bang, bang, bang... Advances down the track to a full ball and powers it over mid on. Once again the connection ain't proper but it still has enough to take the ball past the fence.
95.6 : 95.6: N Lyon to Pant, SIX! Launches a rocket! 18 from the over, what a start to the session. India's lead is now 7 short of 300. Flighted delivery, landing full on middle, Pant kneels down and slogs it emphatically over mid-wicket for a biggie. It's going to be an entertaining session, folks.
96.4 : 96.4: M Starc to Rahane, FOUR! Beautiful! Overpitched outside off by Starc, Rahane looks in amazing touch today and he exquisitely drives it through covers for four.
97.1 : 97.1: N Lyon to Pant, OUT! Live by the sword, die by the sword. Pant is out of here. Lyon tosses it up generously outside off and gets it to spin away. Pant tries to dismiss it over covers with an inside-out shot but ends up handing a simple catch to Finch at sweeper cover. The cameo is over. Lyon has the last laugh. He gets his revenge in the form of his fourth wicket. India's lead three short of 300.
102.2 : 102.2: M Starc to Ashwin, OUT! Ashwin holes out! Finally they pick a wicket off the short ball. Ashwin tries to pull it away for a maximum but doesn't connect well and finds Marcus Harris in the deep backward square leg region. Starc hasn't looked good but gets his second wicket.

Flighted delivery, landing full around off, Rahane goes down on on knee and tries to reverse sweep against the spin. He fails to control his shot and hits it in the air. Mitchell Starc moves across to his left from point and takes the catch safely. India lead by 318 and have two wickets left.
103.2 : 103.2: N Lyon to Shami, OUT! Two in two for Lyon, he's on a hat-trick now. A tossed up delivery, landing around off and turns back in. Shami shimmies down the track and tries to heave it in the stand at mid-wicket. But on the point of contact, the ball turns in and takes the inner half of the bat. It goes aerially to deep mid-wicket where Harris takes another skier easily.
106.5 : 106.5: M Starc to I Sharma, OUT! Ishant is bounced out! Starc bangs in a lethal short delivery on middle, Sharma stands back and tries to fend at it. Finch gets forward to defend it with his bat and pad together. The ball spins back in, goes closely past his gloves and lobs in the air. Pant runs forward to catch and they appeal. The finger goes up and Kohli is pumped up. Finch walks up to his partner but decides not to take the DRS. The replays, later on, fail to detect anything. It seem
13.3 : 13.3: R Ashwin to Harris, FOUR! Fine shot! Flighted delivery landing full outside off, Harris gets on the front foot and crunches his drive through covers for a boundary. Reminds us of David Warner.

16.2 : 16.2: M Shami to Harris, OUT! Second one bites the dust! Harris runs out of patience. A real tempter by Shami, bowls it on a length outside off and Marcus remains inside the crease in his attempt to cut it through the line. The length is not quite there and it takes a thick outside edge on its way to Pant's gloves, his 8th catch in the match. Australia in trouble.
19.2: R Ashwin to Marsh, FOUR! Well played! Marsh picks the length early which is on the shorter side. He rocks back and cuts it behind backward point for a boundary.
23.3 : 23.3: R Ashwin to Khawaja, OUT! Talk about throwing your wicket away! Poor, very poor by Khawaja. He is the experienced batsman and that's a needless shot. Superb delivery by Ashwin. Bowls it slow and lands it in the line of the stumps. Usman is down the track for a big shot but fails to reach the pitch of the ball. Still goes on with his shot but it turns away just a bit to take the outer half of the bat. Rohit runs in from sweeper cover, seems to have misjudged the skier a bit but then complet
26.4 : 26.4: J Bumrah to Handscomb, FOUR! Short of a length and Handscomb pulls it away to square leg for a boundary. Confident looking shot by Handscomb there. Should direct the bouncers better.

36.5 : 36.5: M Shami to P Handscomb, OUT! Gone. Number 4 goes down. Australia in tatters. Shami returns in the attack and strikes. Good bowling change by Kohli. A short delivery hurrying onto the batsman, Handscomb tries to pull but fails to middle his shot properly. It comes out off the higher portion of his bat and goes straight into the hands of Pujara at mid-wicket. The Indians are celebrating. They are right on top and are slowly running through the Aussie batting line-up.
42.2 : 42.2: M Shami to Head, FOUR! EXQUISITE! Width given there by Shami and Head goes onto his back foot and hits the square cut perfectly. Travis is continuing his form from the first innings.

The ball loops in the air and Rahane accepts the simplest of catches at gully. One of the heroes of the Dubai Test for Austr

65.6 : 65.6: R Ashwin to Marsh, FOUR! 10th Test fifty for Shaun Marsh! He reaches there with a firm pull shot off the back foot. The length was short and it assisted that stroke play. All Shaun had to to was to pick the gap at mid-wicket which he did with aplomb. Fine innings by him, this is also his first such knock in the fourth innings of a Test match. He's the one holding the torch for Australia in this game. A danger man as far as India are concerned.
66.1 : 66.1: M Shami to Tim Paine, FOUR! A very well directed bouncer by Shami, the ball rises onto Paine quickly, he tries to pull that away but only manages to glove it. 78.6 : 78.6: M Shami to Paine, FOUR! LOOSE DELIVERY BY SHAMI! Length delivery pitched on middle, the ball moves with the angle and Paine flicks it away off his pad through the fine leg region for a boundary. Shami should probably bowl it in and around off if he wants to trouble the batsman.
84.1 : 84.1: Bumrah to Tim Paine, OUT! Paine falls! Bumrah returns and strikes first ball. Another good bowling change by Kohli. A nicely cooked short delivery by Bumrah, it's around off and rising extra off the surface. Paine tries to wheel a pull shot but fails to middle it. It catches the top edge, balloons behind and Pant moves across to his left to take the skier easily. Massive setback for Australia's chances, if there was any. Into the tail now, India.

100.4 : 100.4: M Shami to M Starc, OUT! Caught behind! This was coming. This was always coming. The ploy of dangling the carrot works. Full and wide outside off, Starc gets tired of leaving balls alone and this time has a massive waft. Does not move his feet at all and gets a thick outside edge. He immediately looks up at the heavens in frustration. Yoga. Yoga might help. In developing patience, you see. 2 wickets away now, are India. Good resistance shown by Starc though. Thought we would have been hom

108.4 : 108.4: J Bumrah to Cummins, OUT! Edged and taken! Cummins departs at last. He has hurt India with bat and ball in this Test. What a fight shown. Short and outside off, Pat arches back slightly and looks to cut but the ball is too close to him and he is undone by the extra bounce as well. Gets a thick outside edge and Virat Kohli at first slip makes no mistake. Patrick walks back disappointed but he needn't be. If the first 6 guys at the top had shown even half of this type of a resistance, Austr

119.5: R Ashwin to Hazlewood, OUT! Caught at second slip! INDIA HAVE WON! Kohli is pumped up. The entire playing XI is pumped up. Or the playing XIII? Because Jadeja and Vihari are in the field as well. Full and outside off, Hazlewood looks to drive but gets a thick outside edge. It flies straight to Lokesh Rahul at second slip who takes it and immediately throws it up in the air in jubilation. Spare a thought for Josh Hazlewood. Spare another thought for Nathan Lyon. Ashwin does spare that thou
