More than half of COVID-19 patients discharged from hospital prone to damaged heart

Around 50% of patients with severe COVID-19 after discharge from hospital show raised levels of a protein called troponin which cause damage to their hearts. At least a month after discharge, the injury was detected thorugh magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans. These new findings have been published in the European Heart Journal Damage.
