Food review: Royal China in Mumbai

Bandra boasts of a lot of fine dining eateries. And one restaurant you can’t miss out when you are in Bandra is Royal China. Right before the hustle and bustle of the main signal, easy to miss, is this quaint restaurant. From its décor to the food and service — all speak of a purely authentic Chinese experience.

The moment you enter you are struck with the lighting, which is just right for one’s eyes, not too bright not too dim. The whole décor will simply give you this warm feeling, that makes restaurant experience all the much better. The mix of dark wood and bright red is amazing. It helps in creating a proper atmosphere found in an authentic Chinese eatery.

Moving on to the best part — food. Royal China has some of the best authentic Chinese food for years now. One can easily say that the restaurant is a pioneer when it comes to dimsums. In terms of the taste, quality, innovation and the sauces that goes with it are simply outstanding. Even the basic dishes taste very good with perfect subtle flavours. One thing I always call for is the Asparagus wrapped in beef. It’s simply yummy and delicious, it’s a must dish whenever you visit. The Peking duck is another great treat, which one should dig into. And if I’m in the mood for something light, it has to be the dimsums or some soups. The restaurant is almost always crowded so I make sure I have a reservation. But even when I decide to just drop by, I’ve never had to wait for long because the service here is as good as the food.
