1 Before you put on your clothes, look at your self in the mirror and wear the most important thing first — your confidence!2 Do not wear sequinned clothes during the day unless you are attending a wedding or an event that specifies you to do so.3 Do not bleach your hair blonde unless you are very light skinned. Women of Indian complexion look best in deep wine, red and blue-black hair colours.4 Never step out with chipped nail polish; it looks extremely tacky and reflects badly on your personality.5 Do not wear heavy eye make-up with dark lips; if you want to go a little dramatic with your eyes, choose a nude lip colour and vice-versa.6 Don’t wear the same colour from head to toe; a bit of mix and match looks much better. 7 Do not over accessorise.8 Beware of lines and bulges under clothing, apart from looking ugly they also reflect a careless personality.9 Remember the three don’ts; do not wear too much perfume, too much make-up and too much jewellery.10 Respect yourself and no matter what you wear. There is a very thin line between sensuality and vulgarity. Wear what you can carry off well to avoid sending the wrong message with your clothes.— As told to Taniya Talukdar
