Holidays make you wearyIt’s your day off, you’ve watched a bit of TV, done a few household chores, flipped through a couple of magazines and possibly even have plans for the evening. But you’re still feeling lost, thinking, what else can I do? While you’re given weekly offs so that you can take a breather and unwind, your mind is all wound up because you’re not working. It’s taking you sheer will power to resist the temptation of doing next weeks work, but you're still trying hard to resist because that’s how you spent your last weekend!  If you're on a vacation, to the annoyance of people you're with, you keep taking work calls, curse the connection when you're out of range and want to check mails, and even keep your whatsapp on because you don't want to miss out on what's pinging on the work-group.

Mid-night work callsYour colleagues never hesitate to call you even late at night, because they know you’ll pick it up even if you’re sleeping. You’ll probably even head out for a field assignment, or to handle some chaos at office if no ones willing to do it. Then there will be other times when you’ll suddenly wake up in the middle of the night with an idea for a new project or some strategy that has you excited to your toes. You’re thinking you want to call a colleague to share it and when you see the time it’s 3 am! So you just go to your faithful computer and key it all in. If its one those days where doing that won’t be enough, you’ll probably read up about it online or simply build on it further to your satisfaction before calling it a night again.

No fixed eating timeThere’s always some work to complete, call to take or meeting to attend, so you’re never eating meals on time. And you’re so bent on doing  the work immediately that you eat with your computer on and do whatever you can as you take each bite. This is not a one-off situation; with you, it’s a regular affair. In fact you spend so much time at office that you’ve also begun carrying a tiffin-box for dinner.

Conversations starting with the ‘W’ wordAs usual you’re late for the party, because you had work and you’re more excited to talk about it than thinking about how to plan your friend’s spinster party. Your friends and family find it so unbearable now, that, the ‘W’ word or anything related to it is taboo when you’re out with them. So when someone new joins you guys and innocently asks everyone (including you) about what they do, when it’s your turn, everyone cringes and just wants to tape your mouth as you again begin about work! And you just beam in happiness and already like the new person because he or she is so interested in what you do. While the rest have gone grumpy, your lips curl in grin…

Colleagues understand you bestOr you’ve probably reached a stage where you’ve already begun skipping social commitments. You only ever go when pushed too much by friends or family. The only people you go with for lunch or coffee breaks or for drinks and partying are your colleagues. Your sense of humour is now limited to office jokes and your colleagues become your go to people even when you're in a personal mess...
