The research conducted on 2,000 women, by Toni ‘n’ Guy stylists, has also revealed that 12 per cent of them go for a change to look like a celebrity, the Daily Express reported.
On an average, a woman changes her hairstyle twice and color once every year, which leads to switching shades for 100 times between the ages of 15 and 65.
The survey also suggested that 64 per cent of women alter their hair because they get bored of the previous one.
15 per cent will change their style for a wedding, while 13 percent think about it after having a baby.
Birthdays and the end of relationships also urge them to look for a change.
The research also found that women visit hairdressers five times a year, which amounts to 250 trips by the time they reach 65.
