Boyfriend Chic by Dhruv Kapur, designer, DRVV Apart from the obvious blazer-tee-skinny jeans, an easy way to achieve the look is by pairing just about anything with a good biker jacket. The key to balancing femininity with the look is to have one fitted piece of clothing in the ensemble — a fitted tee, cinched blazer or skinny trousers — one of the three. A slightly different way of achieving the look is by wearing a long tee and skinny trousers with a cozy —   it’s simultaneously unisex or androgynous and a convincing Boyfriend Chic look. Try not to accessorise with jewellery — you aren’t exactly dressing like your boyfriend if you do, unless you’re that rare girl who likes a man in bling. Most of these looks can be completed with sneakers in canvas or in leather or leather flat boots. For hair, try just about anything sleek like a Jennifer Aniston straight do or pulled back or tight pony. If you want to commit, get a short haircut — it’s better for the summer and easier to maintain. Make-up can be as simple as just a dab of eyeliner and mascara with moisturised lips to add glam in a Boyfriend Chic look with smokey eyes, highlighted contours and a deep lipstick or anywhere in between the two extremes.       Pin-up Girl by Nachiket BarveIn the traditional sense, a Pin-up Girl is either Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren or Sharmila Tagore. Someone who wears a fitted corseted bodice, a wing tip eyeliner and who preens in cutaway shorts with a knotted top. I visualise her as someone, who is young and flirtatious but not sleazy. My version of a pin-up girl would be someone in a full skirted ensemble with a fringe waist and high heels. All in all — a softy take on 50s. A strappy top or a scoop neck or a sweetheart neckline and most importantly a specific attitude. She is coquettish and opts for bangs with a high ponytail or she sticks to soft curls. Today’s Pin-up Girl wears a full-skirted dress with a soft ponytail and accessorises the look with charm bracelets and espadrilles, wedges or quirky pumps. Alternatively, she completes her look with a gingham check skirt tied with a raffia belt and a white shirt.      Girl-Next-Door by Swati Dogra, women’s wear designer, bhane  To me, the Girl-Next-Door has a simple, easy, natural sense of style. This doesn’t mean sacrificing dressiness, but to assemble an original look without trying too hard — that’s the key! For bhane’s version of this look, I would recommend an easy combination of mixed fabric tanks paired with coloured denims — for an extra touch you can layer two tanks for contrast.I’d pair this ensemble with casual brogues or canvas flats and leave the hair loose and natural! Another great Girl-Next-Door outfit would be one of our ombré dresses — they can go from casual to dressy in a pinch, and they’re super comfortable yet flattering. Pair it with unfussy hair, like a big top bun, and team the dress with bright sneakers or strappy sandals. Keep accessories to a minimum to let the dress and you be the focal piece!
