Be it travelling to higher altitude or otherwise, one must always eat lightly before setting out. Snacks or something non-greasy are good options
Always carry fluids like water and fruit juices. In case you’re travelling to a remote location, they always come in handy. I would also recommend lime juice. Since it contains citrus, it helps prevent nausea
It is advisable to carry dry snacks. Whenever you are hungry, pick up wheat crackers or even Marie biscuits
One must also avoid oily and fatty food. Always carry the right food, which has plenty of carbohydrates. A short meal is preferred instead of three large meals
Carrying fruits is also important. A fruit like banana or orange that is easy to peal is what I would suggest. These work best for hygiene purposes also.
