When did you start writing music and what was your inspiration?
I started producing from 2008 or thereabouts. My friend got me into it and showed me the basics and I wasn’t able to stop!

What do you want to convey with your kind of music?
I write a lot of different styles of music, so there are different things with the different styles of music. When I write IDM (Intelligent Dance Music), it’s the more emotional things. I write this mostly for people back home though, to keep it interesting, and it’s the kind of music you can listen to without getting distracted. When I write the more glitch-hop style, it’s for people who want to have a good time and dance.

You’re a fantastic music producer and quite proficient in your genre. Why did you start doing Ableton tutorials?
I started doing tutorials in 2010(ish). I teach Ableton Live, and I started doing them because I like the idea of sharing information freely. The style of demonstration is kind of conversational, so basically, I just start doing something live, like showing people a trick I use, and go off on a tangent and stuff. I really like the idea of having things open source, and in doing this, it kind of brings the quality of music up as a whole, as well.

What’s the most played track on your play list right now?
I think all the tracks in my set usually get played equally.

Tell us about the tour so far. And about your experiences in India...
It has been great. I’ve played in Pune and Mumbai so far. Pune was a smaller crowd, but blueFrog in Mumbai was packed and it was pretty great. The food here has been really good, and the people have been very nice. I went around Pune a little bit and Mumbai a little bit. The roads and the traffic are intense and there are so many more people than back home in Australia. It has been very fun, though.

What gives you more satisfaction at the end of the day — writing or producing?
What gives me satisfaction is just having something completed and then sitting back and listening to it. It gives you that feeling of accomplishment when you complete something.
