STYLE HUNTER: Mommy & Mini me mania

Twinning with your mini me isn't new but over the last few seasons has become a major high fashion business with houses like Gucci and Balenciaga putting luxe kidswear on the map. Early this week, Kim Kardashian West and daughter North West stepped out in matching floor length shine-on £7000 dresses by Vetements to grace a Kanye West concert in New York last night. As expected the paps went into a frenzy. 

Not long ago Beyonce Knowles had posted a twinning image on her Instagram account; with her daughter Blue Ivy, rocking matching floral dresses sourced from Gucci.

IT'S SWEET

While some went wobbly-kneed over Kim's post, others were quick to label it as tasteless. Designer Nishka Lulla says, "It's sweet to match sometimes. At the end of the day, it's a personal choice. I have observed that even in India for many occasions people like to coordinate their outfits with their kids. It's a memory." 

HUGE MARKET

Often people don't look at the price tags while shopping for their little ones. Designer Rajat Tangri sees the mini me mania as a huge market. "It's a cute gesture for mom and daughter to twin but not all the time.It's a huge market. When moms are spending so much money on the outfit, they want to spend a good deal for their children and often without checking the price tag," says Rajat.
