It won’t be an haute couture season minus the statement-making plumage. And this autumn winter, couturiers across the board peppered their handcrafted offerings with a generous dosage of luscious and tactile feathers.

Givenchy under the dynamic Clare Waight Keller in their homage to their founder — the late Hubert de Givenchy, showcased many of the house’s muse — Audrey Hepburn’s cinematic iconic looks (from Sabrina and Breakfast At Tiffany’s) and some of which were sheathed with visually sumptuous quills.

Chanel’s grey ensembles which referenced the Parisian colour landscape, gloried thanks to the feathery accents (a key house insignia), which matched the plume-kissed booties to the T. Maison Francesco Scognamiglio, Schiaparelli and Giambattista Valli too added drama to their creations with vibrant feathers in contrasting hues.
