According to Jobvite’s 2013 Social Recruiting Survey, more than 4 out of 5 recruiters said that any mention of illegal drugs in a candidate’s social updates leaves a negative impression, the Huffington Post reported.

Another update that can ruin your prospects of being hired are tweets or posts of a sexual nature.

Updates about drinking and sharing are also a complete no-no.

Spelling mistakes can cost a prospective candidate a job.
