Over the course of 2017, Pornhub got 28.5 billion annual visits, 81 million daily and 25 billion searches per minute which boils down to 800 per second!
Over 4 million videos with a total viewing time of 595, 482 hours were uploaded, which would take over 68 years to watch continuously! Closer home, the demand for porn grew as data prices fell, and India went back to being the country that watches the third-most porn. Among stars, Sunny Leone and Katrina Kaif are among the most-searched, even though the latter has never had a career in the adult industry.

Women on Top
In a year when women became vocal about sexual harassment with the ubiquitous #MeToo, Porn For Women was one the top gaining search in 2017. Dr. Laurie Betito, sex therapist and director of the Pornhub Sexual Wellness Center. “From the “Me too” movement to prominent females the likes of Hillary Clinton and Nikki Haley on the world stage, women are feeling more empowered and they have found their voice. By volume, the world is still not done with girl-on-girl with ‘lesbian’ being the top search term, while Hentai and MILF came 2nd and third respectively
India is back in third
After losing the third spot to Canada in 2016, India’s back and only US and UK watch more porn than on this site. Japan takes the fourth spot.
There's a distinct desi flavour to porn-viewing with every one of the top-searched categories including the term Indian, like Indian like Indian wife, Indian college, Indian bhabhi-devar, Indian teacher, India Bhabhi and Indian with Hindi audio.
In a year when mobile penetration was at an all-time high, Sunny Leone remains the country’s most loved porn star followed by Mia Khalifa and strangely mainstream Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif, whose look-alikes seem to have given her the dubious honour.

Globally, 67% of the porn was consumed online, while in India the number is a staggering 86%, no doubt helped by mobile penetration and falling price for data. Expect the number to increase as more people get connected.
All said and done, it was another year of grand porn-watching by citizens across the world and 2018 will just increase the number.
