Soon, the world will see the pontiff play a cameo role in a religious theme based feature film Beyond the Sun to be launched at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival, reported The Telegraph.

According to the producers, it is for the first time that a pontiff has agreed to play a cameo role in a film. The movie where four young children from different cultures try to follow the teachings of Christ, Pope will be seen playing himself.

Reportedly, the film has been inspired by Pope who asked the filmmakers to come up with a movie aimed at giving the message of Jesus, and offered to act in the film. 

The film written and directed by Graciela Rodriguez, stars child actors Aiden Cumming-Teicher, Cory Gruter-Andrew, Emma Duke, Kyle Breitkopf, and Sebastin Alexander Chou.
