If Brownie Point had been your go-to-place to pick up one of their delicious cakes for the past two decades, every time there was a birthday or an anniversary in the family, Chef Manish Khanna now has another sweet offering that seems to be just as exciting. The affable chef, who loves plating up the good stuff, has started Noir, his dessert café, the first of which has opened inside the newly-revamped Alfredo’s at Juhu.

“Noir stands for classic and modern, is constant and yet evolves. Noir will bring to you the premium desserts that we have been customising for decades now,” says the Chef, about the dessert café that serves everything from brownies, tea cakes, biscottis, to cheese cakes, éclairs and tarts, which go well with beverages or ice creams. “We wanted everything to go well with a beverage. For instance, we know one would love to dig into the Nutty Slice Cake with an Americano – the creamy and chocolate crunch of the cake and the Americano flavours would be a lovely indulgence,” he says, adding that he would be opening more outlets of the café in the days to come.

Try the Salted Caramel Ganache Tart which is a no-bake Oreo tart with the goodness of salted caramel and ganache, or the Flourless Chocolate Expresso, which is sinfully dark and a must for coffee-lovers. The Belgian Chocolate Orange combines two flavours – orange and chocolate – and you will be reminded of orange cream biscuits that we have all indulged in as kids. If chocolate is not your thing, try the Honey Cake, which is a soft and spongy layered cake. And for a truly beautiful experience, go for the Milk Cake which comes in three flavours – saffron, rose and pistachio.
