'Of course, I can keep my New Year resolutions'

This year, my New Year resolution was to stay away from plastic completely and with just a few days left for the year to end, I think I have been pretty successful at that.

In fact, it was this decision of mine that prompted me to promote cloth bags that I’d get from a women’s group in Mandya. Also, I’ve always used paper bags for every practical purpose and have tried to do my bit whenever I’ve seen anyone using plastic bags. The awareness has to come from within and if it doesn’t I have always been pretty vocal about it and tried to reason out why greener options are a better bet any day.

Now that I look back, I see that I have managed to stay true to my New Year resolution for the whole year and if I can do it, so can others. I stood by my belief and now, feel thrilled that it was my small bit towards the environment.

And for the next year, I already have my resolution in place. I have decided to go on a solo world tour and I just hope this too is made possible.

I don’t know about others but just as I kept this year’s resolution, I hope to stick to the next one too.
